People turn to music in adulthood to learn how to express their emotions and captivate their listeners with beautiful sound. In order to achieve this goal, in lessons I help students build a holistic musical personality of the student. This includes all types of technology of any level, musical ear, music theory, musical notation, as well as more general psychological skills and abilities, such as artistry, self-confidence and faith in oneself, calmness during performance and, most importantly, musicality. In this sense, the student and teacher's understanding of themselves and music, the pedagogical process plays a major role; serious attention is paid to psychological processes in the lesson, since they are one of the most important part of the student's progress. The work includes elements of psychoanalysis and musical analysis (I have more than 7 years of personal psychoanalysis experience).
The learning process is based on play, as well as analysis of the performer's and teacher's own emotions. I do not engage in dry memorization of techniques, the so-called drill, or as one of my teachers put it: "sport pianism". Everything goes through the process of expressing yourself through sounds and sometimes words, which makes it more interesting and enjoyable. Such work is deeply individual and usually requires an amount of time. We jointly build each lesson and action plan, which allows us to choose pieces and genres, the pace of learning, the degree of immersion in the topic together.
Usually, students face certain constraints or confusing or erroneous ideas about music and their playing, about themselves and the teacher, about how learning should take place. Step by step, we achieve confidence, calmness, improvement of skills and acquisition of skills through well-thought-out psychological work.
Unfortunately, teachers almost always do not know how to work in the psychological (and, as a result, musical) area, which significantly worsens the quality of lessons.
It is never too late to start studying music. Research from the first half of the twentieth century confirms that all the necessary musical skills develop at any age.
If you have already studied music before, then your skills are not lost and can be restored.
I work all levels and ages! For your own pleasure or professionally
